The Writing Center's mission is to help you become a better writer. While we do not copyedit or proofread, we will help you to develop the skills to improve your writing, reading, and thinking.

To get the most out of your session please prepare in the following ways:

  • Consider what question or aspect of your writing you’d like to focus on.
  • Bring any materials associated with your assignment.
The Writing Center is popular; please be courteous of your peers by adhering to the following policies:
  • Schedule only 1 appointment and visit only once during drop-in hours per week. Non-native speakers may talk to us about scheduling a second appointment per week.
  • Be on time. Appointments begin on the hour and last 45 minutes. You risk losing your appointment if you are more than 10 minutes late.
  • If you need to cancel, do so at least three hours in advance. If you miss two appointments without canceling in advance, you will not be allowed to schedule an appointment again during the semester, but you may visit on a drop-in basis.
By clicking register, you acknowledge your agreement with our policies. We look forward to working with you.
